Mirador de Carmen Alto - Cayma District

Carmen Alto, traditional village of Cayma located on the right side of the Chili River and 4 kms. From the Plaza de Armas. From uncrowded streets and traditional people, it has beautiful well-maintained terraces with stone walls and surrounded by old paths that are still used today. Next to the Chili river which passes divided Arequipa into two parts.

On the banks of the river you can see the terraces full of vegetation that dates back to pre-Inca times, where the Yarabayas (known as "la lloclla" torrentera) were established.

Between Cayma and Yanahuara, on a high promontory, stands Carmen Alto, a quiet village, but surrounded by wonderful landscapes. From here you can see the distance from the White City and the surrounding countryside.
